Learning Services to Distribute Wanderful interactive storybooks Originally Published as Living Books in the North American Education Market

SAN FRANCISCO, July 9, 2012 – Wanderful announced today, following the International Society for Technology in Education conference in San Diego last month, that Learning Services is now the exclusive distributor of Wanderful’s new collection of multilingual interactive books to the education market in North America. This new collection of interactive storybooks delivers the most imaginative, engaging and fully interactive experiences for young and emerging readers through high-quality, animated content loved by children, parents and teachers alike.

Learning Services will distribute the Wanderful interactive storybooks for Mac and Windows platforms. The storybooks will be in English and Spanish, plus French when available. The first three titles are “The Tortoise and the Hare,” “Little Monster at School” and “Arthur’s Teacher Trouble.” More than a dozen additional titles based on Jan & Stan Berenstain’s Berenstain Bears, Marc Brown’s Arthur and other noted authors will be released in the coming months. Each Wanderful storybook will include a 30-70 page Classroom Activities guide, multiple languages and the right to perpetual feature updates. Titles will list for $9.99 with volume discounts available.

“Wanderful interactive storybooks are based on beloved and best-selling titles and include all the high-quality, animated content students, parents and teachers love with stories read in multiple languages,” said Mickey W. Mantle, President of Wanderful. “We’re thrilled to be partnering with Learning Services whose broad distribution can bring these great titles directly to the educational market for young and emerging readers.”

Highly intuitive, the Wanderful storybooks allow children to explore each story and all its content. Each title is filled with hundreds of interactive hot spots and antics, providing a deeper story experience and more interactivity on one page than many other story apps have in their entire books. The Classroom Activities guides let teachers create lessons based on the interactive stories and integrate the interactive storybook into their curriculum, with guidance on aligning their use with the new Common Core standards that are becoming increasingly important to educators. Wanderful has created a dynamic language function that allows readers to switch languages on-the-fly from anywhere in the story – a stunningly simple and powerful feature unlike anything found in other interactive storybooks or eBooks.

“We’re excited to be distributing the Wanderful interactive storybooks,” said Donna Villena, General Manager of Learning Services. “These storybooks deliver a great experience for students and teachers alike. They make a great contribution to our catalog of educational products.”
